In 2026 the Faculty of Humanities broke the previous record of application. For the 2026/27 academic year, nearly 2,200 applications were submitted through the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme – a huge 30% increase since last year, which means 600 more applicants chose us than last year. 

Our Masters in Communication and Media Studies, Masters in Film Studies, and Bachelors and Masters in English Studies remain the top choices among applicants. Additionally, disciplines such as Logic and Philosophy of Science, Semiotics, Central European Studies, Chinese Studies and Cultural Heritage Studies are seeing consistent growth in interest, as do our ever popular PhD courses offered by our doctoral schools.

We are also excited to offer a wide range of partial study programmes, with nearly 200 applications for one or two-semester courses in 2026, which is also a 100%-growth since the last application period.
